Mobile phone viruses-protection
  • Date:2014-5-1

Cell phone technology has improved greatly in recent years, and there are more and more mobile phone users every day. However, along with technology on par with standard computers comes security risks, including viruses.

Ordinary mobile phones and personal computers have different architecture, so these types of phones cannot become infected by a virus from a PC. Smartphones are different -- they can be connected to a PC using a USB cord, leaving them susceptible to any virus that may be on a computer. Viruses can then be spread by Bluetooth or downloads.

Here are a few simple tips to help protect your phone from viruses.

  1. When using Bluetooth to send files, pay special attention to the file type.
  2. If a friend sends you a link in a text message or using an app such as Line or WhatsApp, make sure it’s a safe website before opening it.
  3. If you have an Android phone, consider installing anti-virus software, which is available online.
