Background
COMPUTEX TAIPEI—the 2nd biggest
International ICT Show began holding the "Best Choice of COMPUTEX TAIPEI
Award" event in 2002 to encourage technological innovation in the domestic
ICT industry and help companies expand their export markets. The awards and
the publicity that accompany the event will enhance exposure and burnish the
image of superior products. Manufacturers are enthusiastic about this
activity, and the international media has also given it extensive coverage.
The numbers of participating companies and products have increased steadily;
there were over 330 product applications in 2007.
Best Choice 2008
COMPUTEX TAIPEI will be held for the first time at the TWTC Nangang Exhibition
Hall in 2008, and we expect to have more than 4,300 booths. The Best Choice
Award will be bigger than ever, and Overseas companies will be allowed to
participate for the first time ever. In addition, there will be new categories
of broadband communications, Green IT, and industrial design. Thus, the award is
becoming more international and focused. Best Choice 2008 will have a total of
17 award categories plus three special awards. The opening ceremony and
presentation of awards will be held on June 3, 2008.

TAIPEI 2008 will be chosen in accordance with the principles of fairness and
impartiality by a jury composed of specialists from industry, government, and

Diverse Exposure: In conjunction with a special website area providing
enhanced publicity, the Best Choice awards will hold a ceremony as part of the COMPUTEX TAIPEI opening ceremony. There will also be a special display area for
award-winning products in the exhibition hall, and a publication showcasing
these products will be distributed to visiting buyers and the media. Products
will thus have a rare opportunity to obtain various exposure.
