Words from the Director

Computer & network has become an indispensable tool for our daily life, and the magnitude of computing capacity and bandwidth plays a crucial role in the influence and effects of teaching and research. Our Center has been in charge of coordinating and enhancing computing facilities of the University. Its goal is to provide sufficient and stabilized bandwidth for networking, promote e-learning, implement an integrated computerization of resources and cultivate individual talents. The principal mission of the Center is to assist National Taiwan University in becoming an integrated multi-research university among the first-ranks of the world.

In the near future, C&INC will be working towards becoming the information center of the University. Computers and network, then, will be the necessary tools. As the center of information, it will be actively taking part in the operation and management of the integrated University, becoming not just one of the knowledge producers but its chief manager and supplier. The services of C&INC to NTU teachers, researchers, staffs and students will be gradually extended to the alumni and general public. Through integrated distance education and asynchronous courses, we hope to provide chances of continuing education, professional development as well as life-long learning. Our wish is to make every Taiwanese an accomplished alumnus who holds deep affection for National Taiwan University.
